AES Andes is Included for the Seventh Consecutive Year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Chile

-The Company also continues to be part of the Latin American Integrated Market Index (MILA) for the third consecutive year.

November 16, 2021.- For the seventh year in a row, AES Andes has been included in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Chile, which brings together Chilean leaders in governance, environment and social issues. In addition, the Company has been included for the third consecutive year in the Latin American Integrated Market Index (MILA) that measures corporate market performance in the Pacific Alliance countries.

Some of the most important areas -where the Company has obtained the highest grade- are risk management, innovation management, social and environmental reporting, as well as human capital and water-related risks.

The Social Investment and Sustainability Director of AES Chile, Adriana Roccaro, stated that “with the implementation of our Greentegra strategy, we are becoming the first renewable company in South America to address the challenges posed by climate change.

In this process, sustainability is transversal to the way we manage the Company. Continuing to be included in this index is an acknowledgment of our environmental, social and governance practices and the strategy we have set for ourselves as a business.”

The executive added that “being part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is also a recognition of the effort and commitment of all our partners to accelerate the future of energy in the markets where we operate.”

AES Andes was the first electric generator to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Chile when it was created and has maintained its position during the seven years this index has been measured on the Chilean market. This ranking is intended to promote good practices in the areas of corporate, social and environment governance.

In addition, AES, the parent company of AES Andes, has been included for the eighth consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America.
