The AES Hawaiʻi Foundation supports our neighbors and communities that host our renewable energy projects. These areas include:

While preference is given to nonprofit organizations serving these areas, we also consider awarding grants outside of these communities, such as to statewide entities.

AES Hawaiʻi Foundation funding priorities

  • Program or project must show alignment to one or more of the Foundation’s impact pillars​
  • Organizations must be working in or serving a community within our geographic focus areas.
  • Programs impacting or operating at a statewide capacity are also considered
  • Provides direct value or addresses unmet need of the local community
  • Provides long-term benefits to the organization or the community
  • Produces measurable impact for the community
