We're dedicated to environmental stewardship and the preservation of native Hawaiian species. Mālama ʻāina guides us in safeguarding Hawaiʻi's unique natural heritage and nurturing a sustainable, respectful relationship with our land, native species, and natural resources.

About the AES Hawaiʻi Foundation



 

The AES Hawaiʻi Foundation serves as the heart of AES Hawaiʻi’s social impact giving. Established in 2021 and structured as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, the AES Hawaiʻi Foundation makes charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations and community groups in the local communities that AES Hawaiʻi serves, as well as addressing statewide needs. The Foundation is modeled after similar charitable foundations established by The AES Corporation in other states and countries, including the AES Ohio Foundation, AES Dominicana Foundation, AES Panamá Foundation and AES Chile Foundation. Since its inception, the AES Hawaiʻi Foundation has distributed over $610,000 in charitable donations to Hawaiʻi nonprofit organizations.

While preference is given to nonprofit organizations serving these areas, we also consider awarding grants outside of these communities, such as to statewide entities.
